Setup & Installation

What access is required for track set-up?

  • Initial track survey by technical personnel
  • AI marker posts sectional areas and starting gates
  • Optional camera testing from the commentator's box
  • Line of sight testing of optional camera
  • AI camera footage for five laps from broadcast camera positions

Our technical team will coordinate with your staff to ensure minimal disruption to regular track operations during setup.

Do we need an electrician on-site during installation?

No, you don't typically need an electrician on-site during installation. Our system is designed to utilize existing power infrastructure and broadcast camera setups. Our technical team will handle all aspects of the installation process, including connecting to existing power sources.

If your venue has any unique electrical requirements or restrictions, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Can you demo this set-up on any Greyhound racetrack in NZ?

Yes, we can demonstrate our AI tracking system at any greyhound racetrack in New Zealand. We've already conducted successful implementations at several tracks in partnership with GRNZ, including at Auckland since 2024.

Our system is designed to be adaptable to various track layouts and environments. We'll need to schedule a brief site survey prior to the demonstration to ensure optimal camera positioning and synchronization with your existing systems.

To arrange a demo at your track, please contact us.

Maintenance

What maintenance is required?

Our AiTrax system requires minimal maintenance as it leverages your existing camera infrastructure. The primary maintenance elements include:

  • Regular software updates (performed remotely by our team)
  • Occasional camera lens cleaning (standard broadcast camera maintenance)
  • Annual system calibration check

With no additional hardware components to maintain, our system significantly reduces maintenance requirements compared to traditional timing systems that use physical beams or tags.

Data & Integration

How is your data shared with us?

AiTrax provides flexible data sharing options to suit your specific needs:

  • Access through our secure online portal
  • Direct API integration with your existing IT systems
  • Real-time data feeds for live race displays
  • Custom data export formats available

All data is provided in a consistent format across all tracks and codes, making it easy to analyze performance across different venues and race types.

Can results be displayed on course displays in real-time after the race?

Yes, AiTrax results can be displayed on your course displays in real-time after each race. Our system provides immediate post-race analytics including:

  • Sectional times for each competitor
  • Individual speed measurements
  • Distance covered data (particularly relevant for thoroughbred and greyhound racing)
  • Visual race replays with tracking overlays

We offer integration with most common display systems and can provide guidance on display formatting to best communicate the rich data our system provides.

Do we get additional AI markers?

Yes, our AI system provides additional markers beyond standard sectional timing. These include:

  • Individual competitor tracking throughout the entire race
  • Position tracking at multiple points on the track
  • Speed variance analysis
  • Racing line optimization data
  • Track coverage heatmaps

Our AI continuously learns and improves with each race, identifying new data points and insights. We can also develop custom markers specific to your track's unique requirements or for specific performance analysis needs.

How is client data kept secure?

Data security is a top priority at AiTrax. We implement multiple layers of protection:

  • End-to-end encryption for all data transmission
  • Secure cloud storage with regular backups
  • Role-based access controls for all user accounts
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Compliance with relevant data protection regulations

Your racing data remains your property, and we provide robust security measures to ensure it's protected. We can also accommodate specific security requirements your organization may have.

Hardware

Do we own the hardware, or is it leased?

Our AiTrax system is designed to utilize your existing broadcast camera infrastructure, so there's minimal additional hardware required. The components of our solution include:

  • Software licenses (subscription-based)
  • AI processing unit (typically leased as part of the service)
  • Camera integration modules (if required)

We offer flexible arrangements based on your specific needs and existing infrastructure. Most clients opt for our service-based model which includes all necessary hardware, software, maintenance, and upgrades without capital expenditure.

General

Where has AiTrax been used?

AiTrax has been successfully implemented at numerous racing venues across New Zealand and Australia:
